Let’s talk about 2015; it’s only fitting seeing as this is my first post of the year… For once I haven’t really set any goals for the year ahead, other than the day-to-day effort not to spend so darn much on clothes! I’m pretty happy with my fitness regime (2 Pilates classes a week, interspersed with brief jogs by the harbour). Eating habits are pretty good too, my currently recipe rotation doesn’t veer to far from stir-fries and salads. Plus investing in a Vitamix has turned me into a total smoothie fanatic.
So what should I be working towards this year? Let’s go back to the spending habits thing… I think 2015 is going to be about adding special pieces to my wardrobe. More is more, but not in terms of how many pieces I buy or the amount I spend. Instead I’m going to find standout pieces that will instantly elevate my look. Be it eclectic details, beautiful textures or interesting colours. Styles that above all make me happy, that I’ll be wearing for years, maybe even pass down to a granddaughter in decades time.
Let’s start with this smooch-worthy House of Holland top. Velvet and adorned with sequins it is far from subtle, but it’s a sure fire way to make anyone smile.
