Dashing outside in between Sydney’s torrential downpours* yesterday morning resulted in this blurry shot, but with stripes this bold I figured I could get away with posting it!
Stripes are of course a staple in my wardrobe and when a trend gains enough momentum I like chain stores for a quick (and affordable) fix.
A vertical/horizontal combo like this may be risky business (and verging on jailhouse), but I’m never one to shy from a sartorial challenge.
*Of course by 9am it was sunny perfect photo-taking weather!
I can’t get enough of online shopping (I was never taken in by the “in-store experience”, too many moody sales assistants for my liking). So I jumped at the chance to meet with the Net-a-Porter team and view their new season edit in Sydney last week.
It was an absolutely beautiful pre-fashion week event and gave me the chance to delve further into the world of digital commerce. I’m eager to see what the online shopping giant has planned for Australia now they have launched a site dedicated to Asia and the Pacific. First perk? $10 shipping to Sydney. That’s enough to rope me in!
What else would a sensible person wear on a 46 degree day (well 45.7 to be exact), but long sleeves, a wool skirt and heeled loafers. This was me on Friday in Sydney’s blistering heat…
Living in a concrete apartment which maintains a low temperature throughout summer I often make these mistakes, and my winter appropriate wardrobe doesn’t help matters.
Next summer I promise I’ll try a few summer dresses…. Maybe.
