The Names to Know in Denim

I spend a lot of time checking out new season collections and scouring the market for emerging labels… tough gig, huh?   Well it makes life pretty easy when I’m shopping for myself.  So when it comes to buying denim I don’t waste time tripping around shops, trying on hundreds of styles;  instead I have a few go-to brands that make shopping for denim so easy.  Here are my top 7 picks…

BYCHILL Topshop Denim High Summer BY CHILL Gorman Denim
Topshop: For souped-up denim at bargain prices Topshop is a one stop shop.  I’m talking prints, pastels and the best range of denim skirts and dresses.  Plus right now they’ve got the cutest collection of denim co-ords too. Gorman: Melbourne label Gorman is renowned for their kitch designs, but they also offer some great denim staples.  This season I’m loving the reversible quilted jacket, oh and their hilarious grocery-boy jeans are too cute to pass-by.

BYCHILL Paige Denim Skinny Jeans

Paige: For the perfect skinny jean you simply can’t go past Paige Denim.  Yes prices are premium, but when you take into account the fit and quality there’s no doubt they’re worth the splurge.  Plus a wide variety of washes and cuts means you’re certain to find the perfect pair.

BYCHILL Mary Katranzou Printed denim1 BYCHILL Nobody denim SS14
Mary Katrantzou: Did you know the queen of graphic prints also dabbles in denim? Definitely not your run-of-the-mill blue wash, Katrantzou’s bold pieces are not for the wallflower.  Luckily you can nab a few heavily reduced pieces on The Outnet, making the potential cost-per-wear pretty-much justifiable. Nobody Denim: Oozing effortless-cool, Melbourne label Nobody deliver great designs without the fuss.
And while they cut an enviable skinny, it’s the slightly oversized boyfriend jeans that I have my eye on this season.

BY CHILL Oneteaspoon denim shorts
BYCHILL Tu es mon Tresor denim
One Teaspoon: When it comes to denim shorts you can’t go past One Teaspoon.  Famed for their roughed-up finishes, they’re a festival/beach/travel must-have.  Plus they’ve been seen on everyone, from Margot Robbie to Beyonce.  Need I say more? Tue es mon Tresor: For premium embellished denim Tu es mon Tresor can’t be beat.  The Japanese label specialises in adorning boyfriend jeans with pearls, crystals and other sparkly things.  If you’re not sure about splashing out on the pretty-cool pieces why not try a DIY?
