Another outfit from Australian Fashion Week 2011. Again keeping it simple in classic pieces like my favourite vintage tweed skirt. I found this one in at a vintage store in New Zealand, it was originally a dress but I chopped off the top and voila, another skirt to add to my collection.
My collection of Venice jewellery is forever expanding, and if you pop onto her site you’ll understand why. Inspired by nature, and most recently the universe, you’ll be captivated by the many pretty pieces. My favourite is the mix and match earrings which I love to alternate on a daily basis and the thorn ring which is a permanent fixture on my pointer finger.
She has also collaborated with two of my favourite local designers, Karla Spetic and Michael Lo Sordo, creating stunning pieces incorporating colour and beautiful materials such as dichroic glass. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for next season!
I love sweatshirts for the weekend, but I’ve recently found they can fit into my work wardrobe too. Paired with a pencil skirt and heels this humble sweater has a new lease on life and is now one of the most versatile pieces I own.
Wearing head-to-toe black on the first day of Australian Fashion Week each year has become a habit. I think it began with the idea of being inconspicuous and able to blend into the background, but with Sydney’s obsession with colour and print it really has the opposite effect.
This was in 2011 after a trip to Europe (where I splurged on this Chanel bag) so I was pinching pennies and mainly wearing things I already had in my wardrobe.
